Nitrogen Tank Exchange

Whenever a LN2 bottle  gets empty, this procedure must be execuded  IMMEDIATELY . 

Open both valves and release the remaining pressure.

Remove the sealing collar and the O-ring.

Remove the pipe and let it to get warm.

Put the empty tank into the metallic storage cabinet on the access ramp located at the outside of the telescope

(The mechanicians will refill once a day the empty tanks).

Take a full tank from the storage cabinet.

Take a pipe and put appart the metallic tube from the sealing cap by unscrewing the knob at the top.

Put the O-ring on the sealing flange on the top of the tank (Make sure that it fits well into the seat).

put the black cap on the O-ring (Make sure that it fits well into the seat).

Tie the cap with the sealing collar.

Close both valves (at the pipe and at the cap).

Insert the metallic tube into the tank by the orifice on the top of the cap.

Tight the sealing knob at the top of the cap.

Check that no gas leak occurs.

The tank will get pressure after a few hours.
