Disk Cleaning and Monitoring

1- During the day, the TIO should:

* on wemmi in $INS_ROOT/SYSTEM/DETDATA,
   and on wsofi, in $INS_ROOT/SYSTEM/DETDATA
    remove the  directories that are more than 3 night old
    (keep only 3 dirs). Do this AFTER the ws-cleanup is finished.
* on wg5pl: run the daily pipeline maintenance procedure
* on wg5off check that the /data disk with the diskMonit. If more than 70 % is used, show it to the support astronomer.

* The cleaning of the wg5dhs /data disk is under the responsabilities of the data handling team (Saul and Anton).
If the disk is more that 70% used please contact them.

2- At startup,

* check that diskMonit is running:
     diskMonit is a  Tcl-Tk script monitoring the disks;
     to run it:
   - from wemmi or wsofi, run it from the NTT menu,
     this runs the program wich displays the 5 disks

* if one of the disk reaches 70%, use the "emergency cleaning procedure"
     (cf below)

3- During the night, keep an eye on diskMonit. If one of the disks
   reaches 90%, use the emergency cleaning procedure (cf below)

4- Emergency cleaning procedures:
   Clean only the disk that reaches the limit.

*  on wemmi  remove the oldest subdirectory in
   $INS_ROOT/SYSTEM/DETDATA, with
        cd $INS_ROOT/SYSTEM/DETDATA
       ls -ltr | grep drw
       rm -r 1998-10-20 (oldest one)

    ***NEVER remove any file from $INS_ROOT/system/DETDATA***

*  on  wsofi, remove the oldest subdirectory in
   $INS_ROOT/SYSTEM/DETDATA, with
       cd $INS_ROOT/SYSTEM/DETDATA
       ls -ltr | grep drw
       rm -r 1998-10-20 (oldest one)

    ***NEVER remove any file from $INS_ROOT/SYSTEM/DETDATA***

*   on wg5pl:
        open a pipeline xterm on wg5pl
        cd /data/raw
        ls
        rm -r 1998-10-20 (the oldest one)

        *DONT REMOVE DATA FROM THE CURRENT NIGHT* if needed, call the
        support astronomer for help

*   on wg5off
        *CHECK WITH THE ASTRONOMER BEFORE REMOVING FROM THIS MACHINE*

        *NEVER REMOVE DATA FROM THE CURRENT NIGHT BEFORE CHECKING
         2 TIMES WITH THE ASTRONOMER*

        open a nttastro xterm on wg5oh
        cd /data/raw
        ls
        rm -r 1998-10-20 (the oldest one)

* On wg5dhs, call the data handling team member on duty (Saul or Anton).
