Observing Data Handling
OBSOLETE
The data handling operator (not the NTT day operator)
has to daily manage the archiving system procedures defined in the CHECKLIST
ROUTINE.
The NTT day operator, every morning, immediately after
the completion of the calibration plan, has to backup the data taken during
the previous night, plus the calibrations required for the data reduction as
is defined in the following procedure:
DAILY BACKUP
- Open an xterminal on wemmi (for EMMI or/and SUSI2
data) or wsofi (for SOFI data).
- Do the master copy.
- @wemmi> wemmi-backup
or
- @wsofi> wsofi-backup
- Follow the instructions required for the script
- When the script ask to insert a tape and hit return,
check the size of the
data, and, insert the proper tape, considering the following:
- 60M DAT contains 1.3 GB.
- 90M DAT contains 2.0 GB.
- 120M DAT contains 4.0 GB.
- At the end of the process, two hard copies of the
data in the tape will be
delivered at the lptntt printer.
- Fill in the Log Data
Saving stored in the Data Saving Folder.
- Mark the tape with a label, including the identification
of the source
(wemmi or wsofi) and the date of the data.
- Archive the fitslog copy in the Observing Logs Folder.
Archive the master tape printout in the Data Saving Folder.
- Store master copy into archiving desk.
