|SofI Publication Metrics
The publication metrics is a tool for measurig the scientific impact of an astronomer as well as an instrument. Here we report the publication metrics for papers based at least partially on SofI data as fo May 16, 2005, hoping that this information may be useful to the community. The literature survey is based on ESO ADS. We do not claim that this is a complete statistics.

The two most cited papers (on the Chandrda Deep Field South) from 2001 and 2002 have 243 and 166 citations, respectively.
The highest citation paper based only on SofI data (on the Galactic star formation) was published in 2002 and it has 68 citations.
The highest impact spectroscopic papers rank 21 and 40, with 34 and 22 citations, respectively.
No polarimetric-mode paper ranks among the top 40 most cited SofI papers.
The small number statistics makes it hard to derive any far-reaching conclusions from this mini-survey. It is indicative of the general importance of surveys highlited by the wide-field imaging capabilities of SofI.
