CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TELESCOPE

Current Instruments

Both WFI, (ESO/MPG's Wide Field Imager) and FEROS (ESO's Fiber fed Extended Range Optical Spectrograph) are operational at the 2.20-m.

Baffling improvement project (2003-05-06).

A characterization of the baffling of the 2.2-m telescope can be found here. As part of the overall improvement projects we are in the process of design and installation of baffle rings that should reduce the amount of straight light reaching the instruments attached to the WFI.
