ABSTRACT

Drama is defined by some authors as "the literature of plays", being together with Epic and Lyric Poetry, one of the literary genres developed by the Greeks . Etymologically, the word DRAMA comes from Greek words meaning "to do" or "to act". In Drama, the author's intention is fulfilled by the presentation of actors and theatrical devices.

Yair J. Carvajal, 50, and native of La Serena, studied Drama in the Drama Institute of Universidad de Chile (Santiago), and graduated as Director of Actors at Centro Argentino por el Arte (Buenos Aires, Argentina). In La Silla, he has directed four plays: "Teseo y sus Angustias" in 2001, "La Vendedora de Palabras" in 2002, "Nicandro" in 2003, and "Tartuffe" in 2004.
