   you can use the normal Windows networking 
   (SMB) to edit the NTT pages, just map a drive 
   letter to \\www.ls.eso.org\lsweb
   
   NFS will no only work from Windows OS PCs
   with 'non-PCNFS' clients, i.e. Interdrive
   will not work, Hummingbird should be O.K.
   
   My suggestion is to use SMB as this can be
   used on all Win32 machines without additional
   software.

   system configuration was brought to be almost the same it was before 18
   September 2002. The only difference is that the 20mm spacing between

   distance differs by 20mm from specs). All the MPI time starting 12 
   December 2002 will be observed in this "old" configuration..."
   
   Therefore, please install the new baffle system (including the dummy 
   for the Feros baffle if Feros is not installed) at the end of the MPI 
   time, this is **10th of January**, which is the first night of ESO time
   after MPI time.

Action                    : Currently, we are using the Digital Sky Survey 
   available from ESO Garching. Considering that the whole DSS-1 is ~85Gb,
   it is now feasible to have it entirely on-line locally on one disk. The

   - install a local copy of DSS-1 with a web-tool similar to 
   http://archive.eso.org/dss/dss
   - provide a configuration to point skycat to that local server
   - investigate the possibility to have DSS-2 on-line locally (volume eqv
   to 70DVDs).
