This can be delivered in 2 steps, as discussed between NTT and SWC. Action Log : 11/2/00 10:40:17 AM jibsen SBA/JGU are currently studying the available documents and they will provide a deadline this turno. 11/9/00 2:15:54 PM gandreon According to a first evaluation three man-months of work are required. It cannot therefore be considered an action point anymore. User requirements should be formally forwarded asap to SWC team in view of a review. Also CFT is interest in this feature and it should therefore be included in the loop. 11/16/00 4:38:42 PM gandreon It seems that there has been a misunderstanding, and that the first two parts of this action could be delivered as early as December 15. To be confirmed by SBA. 12/8/00 4:31:36 PM sbaeza According to Javier Argomedo's Flat field Lamps Control software Design Description, the main developments stages are: stage 1 : add halogen lamps control to sofi stage 2 : general purpose flat field lamps (16 lamps on/off) stage 3 : general purpose continuous flat field lamps Stages 1 and 2 will be ready by January 13, 2001. Stage 3 will be ready by March 15, 2001. 1/4/01 2:13:36 PM gandreon Stage 1 completed. To be tested starting in the morning of January 6. 1/11/01 1:42:29 PM gandreon Test to be done on January 22nd. Delivery of stage 3 foreseen for January 25th. 1/13/01 11:31:48 AM sbaeza First of all i want to clarify the delivery date of the stage 3. According with action log of 08/12/2000 the stage 3 will be delivery on March 15 2001.. What happened with this date??? Current status of the development: ---------------------------------- stage 1: Implementation done. Online test pending to be performed on January 22nd 2001. This date was adopted because during the previous technical time (06/01 - 09/01) was a little bit risky to do it due SOFI started after that. stage 2: Implementation done. Offline test performed and some minor changes of the panel are pending. Online test will be performed by J.Guzman with the help and knowledge of NTT team during the following week. Deadline of January 22nd is not compromised. stage 3: Nothing are implemented yet. 1/24/01 2:00:16 PM sbaeza Stage 1 and 2: On-line test performed on January 19-20nd 2001. Sofi Flat field halogen lamps accepted by NTT (stage 1). General purpose flat field lamps need a last test to be accepted by the NTT team (stage 2). Stage 3: Under development. delivery for March 15 2001. 3/8/01 9:52:31 AM sbaeza stage 3: development and offline test is ready. test and commissioning on target machine will be during NTT tech. time, March 20-21 2001. 3/16/01 9:56:39 AM gihle Software is ready and it will require testing. It was agreed a new deadline for the 20th of March 3/22/01 3:13:34 PM sbaeza On/Off lamps tested on target machine during tech. time (20-21 March). General purpose continuous lamps not tested on target machine, Hardware is not ready. The transfer line used was a standard one normally used in all other dewars. However, this transfer line until it is cold, gasified part of the LN2. As he dewar is too shallow, the gasified LN2 together with liquid arrives violently to the bottom of the dewar, bounces back producing the known problem. Two alternatives were prepared; one with the outlet at the tip of the tube (the result was the violent LN2 spill) and a second one with side outlets (it also resulted in the LN2 bounce back) After some discussions with L.Gonzalezwe concluded that it is difficult to transfer the liquid without having these problems in the actual conditions. A possible solution will be to prepare a special transfer line that can be prepared with a vacuum insulated hose. This will reduce the gasification of the LN2 in its way to the dewar. This line will need to be ordered and has a high cost. 4/12/01 2:55:56 PM gandreon The option will be offered to the Univerisity of Copenhagen, once that Gerardo has a firm quotation. 5/2/01 8:32:53 AM gihle A vacuum insulated transfer line costs in the order of DM 5000.- However, Leo found an old transfer lines that requires repair. This line after the repair and the necessary modifications will be implemented in the DFOSC. 5/3/01 2:43:03 PM gandreon Conclusion: U of Copenhagen should be informed of the quotation. It should be made clear that the transfer line has to be modified anyway for this special dewar.
