These should be removed and disposed of proporly. Action Log : August 17, 2000 3:49:28 PM gandreon ISG will clear their stuff once the work at the tanks is finished. Swiss to be contacted by management on this subject. August 31, 2000 4:32:18 PM gandreon Swiss were already contacted by Director. A store location to be found. September 07, 2000 3:05:07 PM gandreon The only place is in Pelicano. A confirmation is expected before action starts. September 28, 2000 3:51:16 PM gandreon Left-overs from swiss construction should be moved to the elephants cementery after last check with M Bournet. Action : (maybe not for ISG?) We suspect that the "distilled" water that is used for our humidifier still contains some Ca, as we have mineral deposits appearing around these devices. Pls analyze to confirm that this water is suitable for humidifiers. Action Log : August 24, 2000 3:07:20 PM gandreon Two samples have been sent to different laboratories. September 14, 2000 3:29:46 PM gandreon From the analysis water does not look adequate. Actions to follow: - send a sample of the water used for mirror washing (purchased from University of Chile) - ask a quotation for a plant capable of producing some 100 liters/day of distilled water. September 21, 2000 3:56:48 PM gandreon The result should be compared with the one of the water before treatment. If none available, a sample of crude water should be sent for analysis. October 26, 2000 2:30:07 PM gandreon Conclusion: water produced by our plant is very similar to the demineralized one used by Alain. The powder encourtered in the equipment may have another source, so the powder has to be sent for analysis by the Safety engineer. Action : An SPR should be submitted (possibly by B. Leibendgut). Action Log : October 29, 2000 3:37:31 PM tpaz A template was tested at the NTT with P.Leisy. This template presets the telescope, takes an exposition, offsets the telescope and takes another exposition. The current coordinates of the telescope were logged correctly into the Fits header before and after the offset. No fundaments to submit an SPR. October 31, 2000 3:29:39 PM tpaz Another test made with P.Leisy at the NTT. Current coordinates were logged. No SPR is needed. November 02, 2000 9:33:11 AM jibsen According to TPA, this was tested by her and P. Leisy when investigating the exact SPR to be sent. It assumes that the CCD is linear in the first order and then it calculates the shutter delay as the value that will produce the "most" linear behaviour of the CCD. Then the nonlinearity is defined as the second order deviations from that "flat" response. In most cases the method works fine, but it is not perfectly accurate and it is influenced by the CCD output response. That is the reason why the same shutter shows different delays on each of the 2 CCDs in SUSI2. However, the differences are in the order of few 10s of milliseconds. I would say that those delays are not accurate if below 0.05 second, and I would not expect that differences of 0.01 second or less have any real meaning. In conclusion, I would just reject this Action Point as there is nothing we can do... If a more accurate measuring of the shutter delay is required, the Team can do that by using the traditional method of comparing 10 multiple exposures of 1 second against one 10 seconds exposure using a beta light, so please set this Action as rejected. I would do it myself if Remedy woudl allow me.... :-( November 23, 2000 1:23:12 PM gandreon To be clarified between PLS and PSI. Action : Dome should be made reasonably light-tight. The rubber on the slit should be overhauled. Action Log : June 01, 2000 4:11:27 PM gandreon Emanuela Pompei wrote: as preliminary criterion for light tightness for the danish dome, I would say that if I take I a 5min I band FF with mirror and shutter open and no light on, I should get something of the order of the bias level (1200 ADU) and not a good flat (like it is now, 30.000 ADUs). June 08, 2000 4:13:06 PM gandreon Measurement of "dark" value (Flat field with no FF lamp on) in a similar telescope should be done in order to confirm that the requested value is realisitc. June 22, 2000 8:32:42 AM gihle The problem is related to the motor that activates the slit and the the actual rubber seal. As the slit is closed, the seal acts as a spring and force the slit to open. This can not be prevent by the motor that has no braking system. We are looking for a motor with brake that can be changed with the actual one. June 22, 2000 4:29:35 PM gandreon New deadline TBD when the motor is found or ordered. July 13, 2000 3:48:46 PM gandreon A suitable motor was found. To be mounted. August 02, 2000 4:08:32 PM gihle The motor found was not the correct one. It ha no brake, therfore we have to change our plans. August 10, 2000 4:13:09 PM gandreon Since we'll have a crane, a rubber strip will be applied internally to solve the problem. October 06, 2000 2:00:15 PM gihle Crane will arrive on October 23rd, 2000 October 19, 2000 2:15:16 PM gandreon A platform will come on October 26th. It will be used first at the 2p2. November 02, 2000 9:01:06 AM gihle New delay on the crane availability. It is expected to be here by the 7th of November. November 13, 2000 11:33:46 AM gihle A rubber strip was added to the edge of the slit. Also many holes of the dome were covered. To make a 100% light tight dome will require another dome.... September 14, 2000 3:34:21 PM gandreon Currently it seems to work fine at NTT, except for the stand-by button (S/W "feature"). New test will be carried out these days with the next VLT release. September 28, 2000 4:06:06 PM gandreon With the new VLT release there are still problems with stand-by button. To be further investigated by Guzman. October 12, 2000 4:21:55 PM gandreon Tests went ok at 360. Further tests still needed at NTT. October 19, 2000 2:17:27 PM gandreon New verion is not working. It needs adaptations. New deadline. November 17, 2000 8:51:25 AM jguzman OK gays... This is the history/report/status of MOS after the upgrade on both Telescopes: NTT --- After the upgrade on October i installed the new version of MOS package (emipun 2.3). This version is unique and share with the 3.60 MOS. After test the system worked fine (online operation), but when it goes to stand-by mode the lock-pin remains in a "weird" status. The current workaround by the NTT team is when they need MOS, they put it in ONLINE state and leave it there. Since this is not a major problem, i suggest to leave it there unless the NTT team thinks different. 3.60 ---- After the upgrade on October i installed the newer version of emipun module 2.3, but i forgot to recompile the database of the MOS LCU after the last regeneration. This cause the problem before the first run of the MOS. During the failure i suggest to return to the old 3.60 MOS version (1.15.1.2) which are now currently running. I spoke with Michael about this suggesting him a SW regeneration when EFOSC2 was off-line, but he suggest to do it during some technical time. Now i need to know if the situation when goes from ONLINE to STANDBY state needs to be solved or stays there. Responsible : Software&Commun.Supp.T.
