Action : To build a special slip-support allowing the displacement of the FF lamps array up and down. On this way the operator could take the lamps down for replacing the burned ones and then relocate the lamps on the working position. Action Log : 5 de November de 1998 12:50:05 PM gandreon Material ordered was only partially dellivered (half of requested rails). Deadline changed. 19 de November de 1998 7:54:18 AM weckert Work will start today in the workshop. 7 de January de 1999 12:57:51 PM gandreon Two rails still missing (late delivery) 18 de February de 1999 12:59:13 PM gandreon Rails arrived. Action : When occurred a General Power failure, our Emergency Exits System doesn't work. We needed a Reliable System. First priority is to repair the exisiting lamps. Install the emergency system on the Control Room EXIT stair. The Circular corridor. Emergency Doors specially. Action Log : 5 de November de 1998 12:50:41 PM gandreon GAN will have a look to the battery replacement problem. 7 de January de 1999 12:58:22 PM gandreon Arrived. We need a solution as soon as possible. Please move back the deadline! Action Log : 30 de December de 1998 12:43:50 PM gandreon Problem became urgent due to atmosferic conditions during summer. A prompt delivery is required by the TT. 7 de January de 1999 12:59:16 PM gandreon It only affect SOFI because SUSI has its own system (N2). 15 de April de 1999 5:51:49 PM weckert All parts are manufactured. We were told that - workshop was too workloaded - the kind of boxes we always used until now at NTT are unnecessarily expensive and that it should be possible to buy some from a catalog . We therfore got a catalog from W. Eckert and after agreeing with Alain Giliotte we ordered 20 units of the model which better looked to fit our needs FOR TEST. It appears CLEARLY that these boxes are very cumbersome and even dangerous to contain filters, specially DM 8000 ones. So we still do not have a safe filter storing solution at NTT. Our ideal solution is to get maufactured manufactured anywhere 15 susi2 filter boxes ( 9 filters to arrive this year ) 5 emmi filte boxes ( spares ) 10 transparent lids ( to replace opaque emmi lids) The models we have in use now are satisfacory except opaque emmi and a little shape detail on susi2 lids. Action Log : 3 de February de 1999 2:09:13 PM gihle The time required to manufacture these boxes is : - To make the filter boxes, SUSI2 or EMMI : 3.5 hours each box plus cover. Total: 70 hours. - To make the transparent covers : 2 hours each. Total : 20 hours All material must be ordered under NTT budget. 11 de February de 1999 12:57:29 PM gandreon It will be carried out as background job. Few boxes are supposed to be delivered fairly soon. 7 de April de 1999 5:36:22 PM gihle Material for the fabrication has been ordered. Action : It should be opened and checked before next run. Action Log : 25 de February de 1999 10:04:03 AM agilliot Instabilities in Caspec on cross-dispersion has been reported since long time and was a pending problem. The long camera was suspected at that time. The spectrum shift was around 4 or 5 pixels in cross-dispersion for large telescope ZD moves. It was then requested to the astronomer to perform Th calibration for each telescope orientation to monitor the spectrum shift. If the spectrum shift is now larger, something new occured of course and must be investigated. If the shift is about the same values as found in the past then the required work is more important and not justified if the instrument is only requested for one more run before the decomissioning. Alain Gilliotte 11 de March de 1999 9:04:45 AM agilliot Same comments done on Problem report. The caspec should be installed on second floor to check the performances 26 de March de 1999 4:31:40 PM agilliot after an instrument check, we found that effectively something was loose in Caspec !. The Red Cross disperser had its coupling unit loose between the grating and its motor ... justifying the instability Further tests will be done to monitor the flexure and check eventual focus instability.
